About Us

If this sounds like you, we are looking for an International Projects Officer to be the first point of contact, providing guidance to our Sisters, Mission Partners (staff) and external stakeholders all on aspects of project funding.

The Role

FMDM is an international congregation of Catholic Sisters who, supported by Mission Partners, provide support in areas of the world where compassion and help are needed most. Operating in 8 countries around the world our projects range from schools, hospitals, and retreat centres to working within communities to build relationships between groups through open dialogue and activities. This role is vital in supporting projects with their funding, managing incoming and outgoing donations, while building relationships with those working on projects.

For this role you will require effective and sensitive communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent organisational skills to provide high quality customer service to those working on the ground on our projects. You will provide detailed information and guidance to ensure that funding is best allocated where it is needed most. This is a vital part of the international development work FMDM provide through our range of projects. You will be at the forefront of enabling this work to be completed and as such there will be opportunities for international travel to the project locations.

To succeed in this role you will need to be:

  • Highly organised and able to meet and manage multiple deadlines
  • Proactive in your support of projects with the ability to recognise what is most important to donors and those working on the projects
  • Able to establish excellent working relationships with Sisters and Mission Partners both in the UK and around the world
  • Thorough and accurate with a keen eye for detail
  • Flexible and adaptable; recognising the need to communicate on occasion across time zones
  • Willing to travel around the world to see projects in action
  • Honest and reliable; being able to work with the utmost level of confidentiality
  • Have a working knowledge of MS Office and be willing to undertake training

The salary for this role is up to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a full-time role working 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, for the right candidate there may be the option for flexibility on working days/times. Please note that this role is based at Ladywell Convent, Godalming, but will require the occasional travel to Ireland, the Middle East and Africa.
